I know... I win the award for most random posts :). I have started doing a little bit of paint work in my downstairs hallway and you know how one thing always seems to lead to another right?
My front door right now is a very strange 1980's light green stained wood color. I HATE the color but I'm unsure what to change it to. I have white on hand right now and I'm re-doing the trim and doors glossy white right now. It seems simple enough (and matchy-matchy) to just continue on to the front door.
The problem with the white though is that I don't want the outside to be white. It would get SOO nasty dirty here in South Texas. I'd love to eventually paint the shutters on the outside of our house to black so it would be nice to have the door match I think. But from the inside standpoint is black too dark of a color to bring into a home? I did recently paint all my kitchen cabinets black so I guess a black front door wouldn't be too far off the mark.
Give me thoughts and ideas friends!
Here is what we have to work with...

I think it would work because there is a lot of light from the window:) So it would not be to dark. Happy painting!
I agree with Tesha and the entry hall looks to be a nice light tone. Go for it!
I personally like black! I say GO FOR IT :-)
Hey lady! I nominated you for a Liebster Award! Wahoo! You know I love you and your blog so I thought I'd pass the award on to you! Check out my blog to see what it is all about! :)
Yeah it'd work, you could even go for a lighter shade of black for the inside maybe, like dark grey?
Let us know what you decide :)
I think it would look nice! Can't wait to see pictures of what you decide!
So you would do the outside and the inside black? I think it would work for sure...but post a picture (if you can) of the outside too so we can see what the outside would look like black.
I agree that there is so much light from the windows I think it would work...
I think black would be fantastic! Do it! Do it!
