Griffin ~ 8 Months!

Griffin turned 8 months old this past week! I was super excited that we were able to spend this little milestone up in Dallas visiting my Momma. She hadn't seen Griffin since Christmas time and he is up to a ton more stuff! :)

  • My sweet boy is getting more and more hair. I love his little blonde head! Its getting thicker in the back now that he's sleeping a lot more on his stomach.

  • He still loves to sleep in his Halo sleep sack. We've discovered that he likes to be on the warmer side rather than the colder side. I think that the nights he's woken up earlier than usual was because he got chilly. :(

  • Griffin is still in a size 3 diaper and 12-18 month clothes. I wouldn't call him too big or too little. He is very proportionate. If I had to guess I'd say he's around 22-23 pounds.

  • Griffin goes to bed between 6:30 and 7:00  most nights. If we are at home that is his big fussy time. He has usually just had it and is ready for his crib. He wakes up between 5 and 6 in the morning. Maybe this summer we can begin to shift it just a little bit so he is going to bed just a tad later and sleeping a little bit longer in the morning.

  • Griffin is eating 3 meals a day in his high chair. He has pretty much tried almost all food out there and seems to love all of it! He isn't super thrilled when I pull out the stage 3 jarred baby food. I don't think he cares for the flavor of them much. He eats them, but only under protest :). He can handle most texture and seems ready to try some new things soon! We tried Baby Mum Mums. He likes them at first and gobbled them down. The next time he tried one he acted like he had no idea what it was and wouldn't take a bite. We just keep trying and he still acts disinterested. Time to put them away again.

  • He is pretty much just taking a bottle now. :( I always said that as long as it was working for both of us we'd keep it up. Between the teeth, the disinterest he was starting to show and how long it was taking him to nurse it really wasn't working for either of us. 8 months was a good run and I'm proud of myself!

  • Griffin takes 3 naps a day. One really early morning nap that is only about 30 minutes, a later morning nap that we (hopefully) get 1-2 hours and then an afternoon nap that will last anywhere from 1-2 hours. Generally he sleeps in shorter stretches and I'm guessing that's why he's always ready for bed by 6:30.

  • Griffin is a great sitter now and will sit and piddle with toys FOREVER (thankyougod). I can actually get laundry and dishes done now :).

  • He has not started any crawling yet or pulling up on anything.

  • Griffin still only has the 2 bottom teeth in with no other ones anytime soon.

  • Griffin went swimming for the first time and sat in a big bathtub for the first time at my Momma's house last weekend. What fun big changes!

  • Griffin has learned how to clap! I saw him smacking his hands together at Graham's baseball game a couple of  weeks ago and then he did it again this morning! I could tell he was doing it last week because there were a ton of people around us in the stands clapping and he was copying them. He did it again this morning when there was clapping on tv. So exciting!!

  • Griffin has been saying dadadadadad  and bububububub. But no mamammama just yet. Believe me, I've been working on it with him :).
Silly Boys! You can see here just how big my Griffin is getting! Slow down please! :)

I'm sure that there is much more that I am forgetting. I swear he changes every day! Not only does sometime he wake up looking a little bit older he seems to gain new skills and "tricks" overnight too! :)

Ha! Time to start planning his 1st Birthday soon...

I love his blue eyes and blonde hair! He's such a gorgeous little thing. They do seem to change overnight. Starting to look less baby-like and more little boy. Clever boy being able to clap, we're still working on the mumumumum too!

Hillary, Griffin is beautiful! It's funny how small the world is. I lived in Garden Ridge and worked in Schertz for about 6 months. :) I'm visiting from Tessa's bog-hop and would love to follow you, I just don't know how.

Have a great Tuesday!
