Sharing The Good News

Bobby and I decided that this weekend we wanted to continue to share our good news. We've told some friends and family and figure that the word will now spread on its own now. The only thing that I've decided to hold back on is putting anything on Facebook. Hysterical right? I can tell the whole world on the Internet with my blog but not the closest friends and family that we have online.

My one reservation that I have left is to tell my Mom. Did your mouth just drop open? :) My Mom lives about 5 hours away and we almost never get to see her. Its sad and it breaks my heart because I miss her so much! I know that right now she is going through some things and I don't want to add any extra stress and worry to her life. I'm thinking right now that we'll tell her when I hit 20 weeks. That's only a month and a half away so really in the grand scheme of things its really not all that far off!

We also caved this morning and told our oldest son Graham before we left for church. We wanted to also wait to tell him because he has already been hurt so bad in the past by our losses. He is such a sweet and sensitive child and I know that he grieved hard right alongside Bobby and myself with the other babies that I have lost. I wished there was a way to just never have to tell him until the baby was already here but I was beginning to fear that he might hear things at school from other moms or kids. Other adults who have known our news for some time now have already slipped up in front of him and I didn't want Graham to hear it from anyone else. He seemed really excited and has already requested another brother (which is hysterical because that's what he'll probably get!).

After sharing the news with Graham we headed to church to announce our news to our Pastor and church family. I knew the news would thrill our Pastor because he was there in the hospital with us for hours on end waiting for Caroline to be born. He was also one of the first to hold our sweet little girl while he baptized her! He was of course over-joyed and we were able to announce a "prayers of thanksgiving" for our family during that portion of the service. I smiled to myself when I was handed the church service handout this morning and read the scripture on the front. I was instantly reminded once again that GOD IS IN CHARGE AND ALREADY HAS OUR FAMILY PLANNED FOR US!

"...for once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light."
Ephesians 5:8

Our announcement could not have come on a better day!

Right at the end of the church service the boys really started to act out badly. I took them outside where we found a beautiful batch of bluebonnets (the State flower of Texas!) and I grabbed a couple of pictures.

After lunch we headed out for some delicious Mexican food for lunch. SO Yummy to this Momma +1! We had Mexican food for dinner last night too (and at the same place HA!) and I snapped a couple of pictures of silly Grady who has recently decided that he likes hot sauce!

This is my child who won't eat a single vegetable! I think I'll have to start making some at home for him if this is how well its going to go!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Wonderful that your announcing went so well :)) I'm with you on not wanting to announce anything on FB (when our time comes)... sorry that your mum has so much stress at the moment that you're hesitant to tell her. I've thought of you a lot over the w/end and your story gives me hope. I'm so happy for you and wishing you all the best along the way xoxo

Congrats!! I understand about facebook. I don't think we will bring it up until we are 20 weeks pregnant next time. You are so lucky you have blue bonnets on your yard! We have none although our neighbors seem to have many in theirs...I hope they spread to our yard :)

By the way I'm a new follower :)
