Well Isn't That A Kick In The Pants!

Recently I've been trying to come up with ideas that allow me to contribute monetarily to our family. I thoughts of tons of things including at home child care, opening my own etsy shop and even adding Ads to my blog.

The last one seemed the easiest so I started there first. I figured all I would need to do is apply the Ads which Blogger will let you do in a heartbeat. I started them up around two weeks ago. To get the ball rolling I told close friends and family about them and how they would really help generate a little extra income for us!

It seems that friends and family were VERY generous in their endeavor to help me out :).

Below is the email I received...

After reviewing our records, we've determined that your AdSense account
poses a risk of generating invalid activity. Because we have a
responsibility to protect our AdWords advertisers from inflated costs due
to invalid activity, we've found it necessary to disable your AdSense
account. Your outstanding balance and Google's share of the revenue will
both be fully refunded back to the affected advertisers.

I'm a little sad that I have just barely gotten started and now this is something that I can't count on. I read the rules before I started and it states pretty clearly that I myself am not allowed to click on the ads themselves. I was unaware that they would tally up how many times an Ad was clicked on from various IP addresses. I wish I was warned about that too so I could have passed that info on to well meaning friends and family. I'm sure that it was mentioned somewhere in all the small print that I neglected to read. :/.

So, word to the wise friends, if you decide to apply Ads to your blogs, BEWARE!

(oh and I'm also not sure of why Blogger is cutting some of my words in half and wrapping them around to the next line. So weird.)

I tried the AdSense thing for awhile. Never made any money anyways:(
I took it off. Then some jewelry co offered me compensation for ads on my blog. That made nothing either so don't feel bad.
Hmm...it's time to brainstorm. I'm getting into selling jeans...not really until after S gets here obviously but hoping to make an extra 500 a mth or so..

I started selling Thirty One back in November, and God has truly blessed my business. I made $1000 in my first 30 days!!! If you would be interested, let me know. If I can find the time to do this with 3 babies....it must be easy!!!

I started with Adsense too and made next to nothing after months. They never sent me the money either. Blogherads pays a little better, though it still doesn't pay much unless you're doing reviews.

Good luck finding something that works!

I never even knew you had to click on people's ads lol, so I have made no money for anyone!!
Your family care obviously, but to your detriment ;)

Oh well, you tried. When I had a couple kids and they were quite young, I took on watching other children(not a day care-1 kid at a time). Yes, I made money, but I did not like doing it and stopped soon thereafter. It sounds simple enough to do, but I found it very hard on my family. Every situation is different, so it may work for yours. Maybe an older kid before/after school???

Have you tried to sign up for BlogHer ads? That's the one I use. I do NOT get a lot of traffic on my blog so I don't make hardly anything, and there is normally a waiting list. Just a thought...

I'm with you though, I'd love to find a way to make money that doesn't involve parties or selling. :) Wonder if that exists....

It took me 2 years of having adsense on my blog to finally have enough money to cash out LOL
