17 Weeks And Our Appointment With The New Doctor!

What a fun and busy time this past week has been! I have soo many things to blog about and even more stuff to get you all caught up on! First off though, it's time for a much overdue 17 week update. Technically I was 17 weeks this past Thursday.

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 17 wonderful weeks!

Size of Baby: Baby M is the size of an onion this week. Baby M already weighs over 6 ounces according to our checkup last Monday. I'm wondering how much he or she weighs this week!

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Can I just say how silly I feel every time I type the word "Loss"?! 'Cause let me tell you that that will never happen with me during a pregnancy! :) When I went to the doctor this past Friday I had gained another pound. I don't really take this into account. Comparing weight on 2 different scales at 2 different doctor's office's just doesn't seem right!

Maternity Clothes: Bring them on! I'm wear tops and bottoms in maternity while still hanging on to 1 t-shirt that still fits me.

Gender: If you really want to find out.... Stay tuned for the very next post!!

Movement: I still have days where I think that I haven't felt the baby move all day long. This makes me beyond CRAZY. Yesterday and the day before were these kind of days. I know that the baby is still tiny and it's not likely that I could/should feel the baby move everyday but my brain is still filling me with dread whenever I think about it. There may be a future post for this topic. Right now this is my #1 worry.

Sleep: We've been soo busy lately that I have fallen asleep and then stayed asleep with is totally unusual for me! I'm loving waking up feeling soo good in the morning!

What I Miss: Right now I don't miss anything but my Momma. (She had to leave town yesterday and go back home :(

Cravings: My cravings this week have been fairly under control! I can't wait to see what next week brings though!

Symptoms : Just a couple of Braxton/Hicks contractions but nothing major and being sleepy in the afternoon!

Best Moment This Week: It's a tie for this one! It is split between getting to see my Momma and meeting my new OB who I just adore!

I didnt' get a new picture of my self this week. We've been soo crazy busy that I felt like I never got a chance to stand still for one. I did get a bunch of pictures from our Gender Reveal party with me in them so don't worry, you'll still get to see me and the Bambino! :)

On to other news... I finally got the chance to see my new OB doctor this past Friday! You might remember this post where I talked about how much I was beginning to dislike my OB. After 5 long weeks, I was able to get an appointment with the new Dr. M! She.was.wonderful. If I wasn't married already I might consider her! :) Just kidding!

I really felt like for the first time I have a doctor that actually listened to me and validated all of my concerns. To summarize my visit with her she said that anytime I was worried about the baby in general I could come in for a heart beat check, anytime I was worried about the baby's amniotic fluid I could come in and she would do an ultrasound, and if I had any questions about anything I COULD CALL HER. Not her nurse line. But her. I know that these are just really general statements but to sum her up, I really felt like I was talking to someone who was a wife and a mother and who was awesomely enough a doctor! She was a human being (unlike the unblinking robot doctor that I had from before). I'm so excited about her. I finally know for sure that I have an OB that really cares about me and my baby and who will do anything in her power to get my little one here safe and sound!

I know what you mean about the the weight loss thing in pregnancy--I have NEVER lost weight! Only gained a ton! But, that makes for a nice healthy baby.

I am so glad you love your new dr. She sounds a lot like my midwife. It really makes a difference when you have someone who will listen and actually care.
I can't wait for your next post!!
